And Absalom commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now, when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine; and when I say unto you, Smite Amnon, then kill him; fear not; have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant.


And they went out at noon. But Ben-hadad was drinking himself drunk in the pavilions, he and the kings, the thirty and two kings that helped him.


I said in my heart, Come now, I will prove thee with mirth; therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also was vanity.


Sorrow is better than laughter; for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made glad.


It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.


My heart fluttereth, horror hath affrighted me; the twilight that I desired hath been turned into trembling unto me.


When they are heated, I will make their feast, and I will make them drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith Jehovah.
