¹ H3130And JosephH3381was brought down[H8717] H4714to EgyptH6318; and PotipharH5631, an officerH6547of PharaohH8269, captainH2876of the guardH376, an EgyptianH4713 H7069, bought[H8799] H3027him of the handsH3459of the IshmeelitesH3381, which had brought him down[H8689]  thither.

² H3068And the LORDH3130was with JosephH6743, and he was a prosperous[H8688] H376manH1004; and he was in the houseH113of his masterH4713the Egyptian.

³ H113And his masterH7200saw[H8799] H3068that the LORDH3068was with him, and that the LORDH6213made all that he did[H8802] H6743to prosper[H8688] H3027in his hand.

⁴ H3130And JosephH4672found[H8799] H2580graceH5869in his sightH8334, and he served[H8762] H6485him: and he made him overseer[H8686] H1004over his houseH3426, and all that he hadH5414he put[H8804] H3027into his hand.

⁵ H227And it came to pass from the timeH6485that he had made him overseer[H8689] H1004in his houseH3426, and over all that he hadH3068, that the LORDH1288blessed[H8762] H4713the Egyptian'sH1004houseH3130for Joseph'sH1558sakeH1293; and the blessingH3068of the LORDH3426was upon all that he hadH1004in the houseH7704, and in the field.

⁶ H5800And he left[H8799] H3130all that he had in Joseph'sH3027handH3045; and he knew[H8804] H3972not oughtH518he had, saveH3899the breadH398which he did eat[H8802] H3130. And JosephH8389was a goodlyH3303person, and wellH4758favoured.

⁷ H310And it came to pass afterH1697these thingsH113, that his master'sH802wifeH5375cast[H8799] H5869her eyesH3130upon JosephH559; and she said[H8799] H7901, Lie[H8798]  with me.

⁸ H3985But he refused[H8762] H559, and said[H8799] H113unto his master'sH802wifeH113, Behold, my masterH3045wotteth[H8804] H1004not what is with me in the houseH5414, and he hath committed[H8804] H3426all that he hathH3027to my hand;

⁹ H1419There is none greaterH1004in this houseH3808than I; neitherH2820hath he kept back[H8804] H3972any thingH834from me but thee, becauseH859thouH802art his wifeH6213: how then can I do[H8799] H1419this greatH7451wickednessH2398, and sin[H8804] H430against God?

¹³ H7200And it came to pass, when she saw[H8800] H5800that he had left[H8804] H899his garmentH3027in her handH5127, and was fled[H8799] H2351forth,

¹⁴ H7121That she called[H8799] H582unto the menH1004of her houseH559, and spake[H8799] H559unto them, saying[H8800] H7200, See[H8798] H935, he hath brought in[H8689] H376an HebrewH5680 H6711unto us to mock[H8763] H935us; he came in[H8804] H7901unto me to lie[H8800] H7121with me, and I cried[H8799] H1419with a loudH6963voice:

¹⁵ H8085And it came to pass, when he heard[H8800] H7311that I lifted up[H8689] H6963my voiceH7121and cried[H8799] H5800, that he left[H8799] H899his garmentH681with meH5127, and fled[H8799] H3318, and got him[H8799] H2351out.

¹⁶ H3240And she laid up[H8686] H899his garmentH681by herH113, until his lordH935came[H8800] H1004home.

¹⁷ H1696And she spake[H8762] H1697unto him according to these wordsH559, saying[H8800] H5680, The HebrewH5650servantH935, which thou hast brought[H8689] H935unto us, came in[H8804] H6711unto me to mock[H8763]  me:

¹⁸ H7311And it came to pass, as I lifted up[H8687] H6963my voiceH7121and cried[H8799] H5800, that he left[H8799] H899his garmentH681with meH5127, and fled[H8799] H2351out.

¹⁹ H113And it came to pass, when his masterH8085heard[H8800] H1697the wordsH802of his wifeH1696, which she spake[H8765] H559unto him, saying[H8800] H1697, After this mannerH6213did[H8804] H5650thy servantH639to me; that his wrathH2734was kindled[H8799] .

²⁰ H3130And Joseph'sH113masterH3947took[H8799] H5414him, and put him[H8799] H1004into the prisonH5470 H4725, a placeH4428where the king'sH615prisonersH631were bound[H8803] H1004: and he was there in the prisonH5470 .

²¹ H3068But the LORDH3130was with JosephH5186, and shewed[H8799] H2617him mercyH5414, and gave[H8799] H2580him favourH5869in the sightH8269of the keeperH1004of the prisonH5470 .

²² H8269And the keeperH1004of the prisonH5470 H5414committed[H8799] H3130to Joseph'sH3027handH615all the prisonersH1004that were in the prisonH5470 H6213; and whatsoever they did[H8802] H6213there, he was the doer[H8802]  of it .

²³ H8269The keeperH1004of the prisonH5470 H7200looked[H8802] H3972not to any thingH3027that was under his handH3068; because the LORDH6213was with him, and that which he did[H8802] H3068, the LORDH6743made it to prosper[H8688] .
