² H6213And he did[H8799] H7451that which was evilH5869in the sightH3068of the LORDH3212, and followed[H8799] H310 H2403the sinsH3379of JeroboamH1121the sonH5028of NebatH3478, which made IsraelH2398to sin[H8689] H5493; he departed[H8804]  not therefrom.

³ H639And the angerH3068of the LORDH2734was kindled[H8799] H3478against IsraelH5414, and he delivered[H8799] H3027them into the handH2371of HazaelH4428kingH758of SyriaH3027, and into the handH1130of BenhadadH1121the sonH2371of HazaelH3117, all their days.

⁴ H3059And JehoahazH2470besought[H8762] H3068the LORDH3068, and the LORDH8085hearkened[H8799] H6440untoH7200him: for he saw[H8804] H3906the oppressionH3478of IsraelH4428, because the kingH758of SyriaH3905oppressed[H8804]  them.

⁵ H3068(And the LORDH5414gave[H8799] H3478IsraelH3467a saviour[H8688] H3318, so that they went out[H8799] H3027from under the handH758of the SyriansH1121: and the childrenH3478of IsraelH3427dwelt[H8799] H168in their tentsH8032, as beforetimeH8543 .

¹⁸ H559And he said[H8799] H3947, Take[H8798] H2671the arrowsH3947. And he took[H8799] H559them . And he said[H8799] H4428unto the kingH3478of IsraelH5221, Smite[H8685] H776upon the groundH5221. And he smote[H8686] H7969thriceH6471 H5975, and stayed[H8799] .

²¹ H6912And it came to pass, as they were burying[H8802] H376a manH7200, that, behold, they spied[H8804] H1416a bandH7993of men; and they cast[H8686] H376the manH6913into the sepulchreH477of ElishaH376: and when the manH3212was let down[H8799] H5060, and touched[H8799] H6106the bonesH477of ElishaH2421, he revived[H8799] H6965, and stood up[H8799] H7272on his feet.

²² H2371But HazaelH4428kingH758of SyriaH3905oppressed[H8804] H3478IsraelH3117all the daysH3059of Jehoahaz.

²³ H3068And the LORDH2603was gracious[H8799] H7355unto them, and had compassion[H8762] H6437on them, and had respect[H8799] H4616unto them, because ofH1285his covenantH85with AbrahamH3327, IsaacH3290, and JacobH14, and would[H8804] H7843not destroy[H8687] H7993them, neither cast[H8689] H6440he them from his presenceH5704as yet.

²⁴ H2371So HazaelH4428kingH758of SyriaH4191died[H8799] H1130; and BenhadadH1121his sonH4427reigned[H8799]  in his stead.

²⁵ H3060And JehoashH1121the sonH3059of JehoahazH3947took[H8799] H7725again[H8799] H3027out of the handH1130of BenhadadH1121the sonH2371of HazaelH5892the citiesH3947, which he had taken[H8804] H3027out of the handH3059of JehoahazH1his fatherH4421by warH7969. ThreeH6471timesH3101did JoashH5221beat[H8689] H7725him, and recovered[H8686] H5892the citiesH3478of Israel.
