³ H3045Thou knowest[H8804] H1732how that DavidH1my fatherH3201could[H8804] H1129not build[H8800] H1004an houseH8034unto the nameH3068of the LORDH430his GodH6440forH4421the warsH5437which were about him on every side[H8804] H3068, until the LORDH5414put[H8800] H3709them under the solesH7272of his feet.

⁴ H3068But now the LORDH430my GodH5117hath given me rest[H8689] H5439on every sideH7854, so that there is neither adversaryH7451nor evilH6294occurrent.

⁵ H559And, behold, I purpose[H8802] H1129to build[H8800] H1004an houseH8034unto the nameH3068of the LORDH430my GodH3068, as the LORDH1696spake[H8765] H1732unto DavidH1my fatherH559, saying[H8800] H1121, Thy sonH5414, whom I will set[H8799] H3678upon thy throneH1129in thy room, he shall build[H8799] H1004an houseH8034unto my name.

⁶ H6680Now therefore command[H8761] H3772thou that they hew[H8799] H730me cedar treesH3844out of LebanonH5650; and my servantsH5650shall be with thy servantsH5414: and unto thee will I give[H8799] H7939hireH5650for thy servantsH559according to all that thou shalt appoint[H8799] H3045: for thou knowest[H8804] H376that there is not among us anyH3045that can skill[H8802] H3772to hew[H8800] H6086timberH6722like unto the Sidonians.

⁷ H2438And it came to pass, when HiramH8085heard[H8800] H1697the wordsH8010of SolomonH8055, that he rejoiced[H8799] H3966greatlyH559, and said[H8799] H1288, Blessed[H8803] H3068be the LORDH3117this dayH5414, which hath given[H8804] H1732unto DavidH2450a wiseH1121sonH7227over this greatH5971people.

⁸ H2438And HiramH7971sent[H8799] H8010to SolomonH559, saying[H8800] H8085, I have considered[H8804] H7971the things which thou sentest[H8804] H6213to me for: and I will do[H8799] H2656all thy desireH6086concerning timberH730of cedarH6086, and concerning timberH1265of fir.

⁹ H5650My servantsH3381shall bring them down[H8686] H3844from LebanonH3220unto the seaH7760: and I will convey[H8799] H3220them by seaH1702in floatsH4725unto the placeH7971that thou shalt appoint[H8799] H5310me, and will cause them to be discharged[H8765] H5375there, and thou shalt receive[H8799] H6213them : and thou shalt accomplish[H8799] H2656my desireH5414, in giving[H8800] H3899foodH1004for my household.

¹⁰ H2438So HiramH5414gave[H8802] H8010SolomonH730cedarH6086treesH1265and firH6086treesH2656according to all his desire.

¹¹ H8010And SolomonH5414gave[H8804] H2438HiramH6242twentyH505thousandH3734measuresH2406of wheatH4361for foodH1004to his householdH6242, and twentyH3734measuresH3795of pureH8081oilH5414: thus gave[H8799] H8010SolomonH2438to HiramH8141yearH8141by year.

¹² H3068And the LORDH5414gave[H8804] H8010SolomonH2451wisdomH1696, as he promised[H8765] H7965him: and there was peaceH2438between HiramH8010and SolomonH8147; and they twoH3772made[H8799] H1285a leagueH8147together.

¹³ H4428And kingH8010SolomonH5927raised[H8686] H4522a levyH3478out of all IsraelH4522; and the levyH7970was thirtyH505thousandH376men.

¹⁷ H4428And the kingH6680commanded[H8762] H5265, and they brought[H8686] H1419greatH68stonesH3368, costlyH68stonesH1496, and hewedH68stonesH3245, to lay the foundation[H8763] H1004of the house.
