Psalm 33 - Easy To Read Version

¹ Rejoice in the Lord, good people!\par It is good for good people to praise him!\par

² Play the lyre {\cf2\super [204]} and praise the Lord!\par Play to the Lord on the ten-stringed harp.\par

³ Sing a new song {\cf2\super [205]} to him.\par Play the happy tune beautifully!\par

⁴ God’s word is true.\par You can depend on everything he does.\par

⁵ God loves to be fair and do good things. {\cf2\super [206]} \par The Lord’s true love fills the earth!\par

⁶ The Lord spoke the command,\par and the world was made.\par The breath from God’s mouth\par created everything on earth.\par

⁷ God gathered the water from the sea\par into one place.\par He keeps the ocean in its place.\par

⁸ Every person on earth\par should fear and respect the Lord.\par All the people in the world\par should fear him.\par

⁹ Why? Because God just gives a command,\par and that thing happens.\par And if he says, “Stop!”\par then that thing will stop. {\cf2\super [207]} \par

¹⁰ The Lord can make everyone’s advice useless.\par He can ruin all their plans.\par

¹¹ But the Lord’s advice is good forever.\par His plans are good for\par generation after generation.\par

¹² People who have the Lord as their God\par are very fortunate.\par Why? Because God chose them\par to be his own special people.\par

¹³ The Lord looked down from heaven,\par and he saw all the people.\par

¹⁴ From his high throne {\cf2\super [208]} he looked down\par at all the people living on earth.\par

¹⁵ God created every person’s mind.\par God knows what every person is thinking.\par

¹⁶ A king is not saved\par by his own great power.\par A strong soldier is not saved\par by his own great strength.\par

¹⁷ Horses don’t really bring victory in war.\par Their strength can’t really\par help you escape.\par

¹⁸ The Lord watches and cares\par for his followers that wait for him\par to show his true love.\par

¹⁹ God saves those people from death.\par He gives them strength\par when they are hungry.\par

²⁰ So we will wait for the Lord.\par He helps us and he protects us.\par

²¹ God makes us happy.\par We truly trust his holy name.\par

²² Lord, we truly worship you!\par So show your great love for us.\par
