Job 23 - Easy To Read Version

Then Job answered:

“I am still complaining today.\par Why? Because I am still suffering.\par

I wish I knew where to find God.\par I wish I knew how to go to God!\par

I would explain to God my story.\par My mouth would be full of arguments\par to show I am innocent.\par

I want to know how God would\par answer my arguments.\par I want to understand God’s answers.\par

Would God use his power against me?\par No, he would listen to me!\par

I am an honest man.\par God would let me tell my story.\par Then my Judge would set me free!\par

“But if I go to the east,\par God is not there.\par If I go to the west,\par I still don’t see God.\par

When God is working in the north,\par I don’t see him.\par When God turns to the south,\par I still don’t see him.\par

But God knows me.\par He is testing me and he will see\par that I am as pure as gold.\par

I have always lived the way God wants.\par I have never stopped following God.\par

I always obey God’s commands.\par I love the words from God’s mouth\par more than I love my food.\par

“But God never changes.\par No person can stand against God.\par God does anything he wants.\par

God will do what he planned to me.\par And he has many other plans for me.\par

That is why I am afraid of God.\par I understand these things.\par That is why I am afraid of God.\par

God makes my heart weak,\par and I lose my courage.\par God All-Powerful makes me afraid.\par

The bad things that happened to me\par are like a black cloud over my face.\par But that darkness won’t keep me quiet.\par
