Stop punishing me,\par and stop scaring me with your terrors.\par


I want to know how God would\par answer my arguments.\par I want to understand God’s answers.\par


I can’t defeat God.\par God is too powerful!\par I can’t take God to court\par and force him to be fair to me.\par Who could force God to come to court?\par


A person can’t argue with God!\par God could ask 1,000 questions and\par no person could answer even one!\par


God is very wise\par and his power is very great.\par No person can fight God and not be hurt.\par


God, I called to you for help.\par And you answered me!\par You gave me strength.\par


I am not angry.\par But if there is war and someone builds\par a wall of thorn bushes, {\cf2\super [249]} \par then I will march to it and burn it.\par


The Lord will settle his argument with Israel by sending her far away. The Lord will speak harshly to Israel. His words will burn like the hot desert wind.


The Lord my Master says, “By my life, I promise that I will rule over you as king. But I will raise my powerful arm and punish you. I will show my anger against you!


I will lead you into a desert \{like I did before\}. But this will be a place where other nations live. We will stand face to face and I will judge you.
