Meraioth became the father of Amariah. Amariah became the father of Ahitub.


Shallum was the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brothers, of his father’s house, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent. Their fathers had been over YHWH’s camp, keepers of the entry.


As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants after you, God.


We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us what work you did in their days, in the days of old.


My heart overflows with a noble theme. I recite my verses for the king. My tongue is like the pen of a skillful writer.


God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.


Y’all clap your* hands, all nations. Y’all shout to God with the voice of triumph!


Great is YHWH, and greatly to be praised, in the city of our God, in ʜɪꜱ holy mountain.


Y’all hear this, all peoples. Y’all listen, all who inhabit the world,


The Mighty God, YHWH, speaks, and calls the earth from sunrise to sunset.


The sons of Korah: Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites.


So they went away from the tent of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side. Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood at the door of their tents with their wives, their sons, and their little ones.


The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up with their households, all of Korah’s men, and all their goods.


So they, and all that belonged to them went down alive into Sheol. The earth closed on them, and they perished from among the assembly.


He said to Korah and to all his company, “In the morning, YHWH will show who are ʜɪꜱ, and who is holy, and will cause that person to come near to ʜɪᴍ. Even the person ʜᴇ choose, ʜᴇ will cause to come near to ʜɪᴍ.


The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites;


and what he did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben—how the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households, their tents, and every living thing that followed them, in the middle of all Israel.


The fathers must not be put to death for their children, nor are the children to be put to death for their fathers. Every person must be put to death for their own sin.
