At the time of the evening offering, Elijah the prophet came near and said, “YHWH, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word.


Micaiah said, “If you return-return in peace, YHWH has not spoken by me.” Then he said, “All people, y’all must listen!”


Micaiah said, “If you return-return safely, YHWH has not spoken by me.” He said, “Y’all must listen, all y’all people!”


But now, because he has not visited in his anger, neither does he greatly regard arrogance,


you must not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, YHWH your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me,


Now go, lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you. See, my angel will go before you. Nevertheless, on the day when I punish, I will punish them for their sin.”


For that which happens to the children of humanity happens to animals. The same thing happens to both. As the one dies, so the other dies. Yes, they have all one breath, and humankind has no advantage over the animals, for all is emptiness.


What will y’all do on the day of visitation, and in the desolation that comes from afar? To whom will y’all flee for help? Where will y’all leave y’all’s wealth?


Shouldn’t I punish them for these things?” says YHWH. “Shouldn’t my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?


The punishment of your iniquity is accomplished, daughter of Zion. He will no more carry you away into captivity. He will visit your iniquity, daughter of Edom. He will uncover your sins.


If anyone who wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. Anyone who wants to harm them must be killed in this way.
