All the people answered together, and said, “All that YHWH has spoken we will do.” Moses reported the words of the people to YHWH.
They said to Moses, “Speak with us yourself, and we will listen; but don’t let God speak with us, lest we die.”
Moses came and told the people all YHWH’s words, and all the ordinances, and all the people answered with one voice, and said, “Every word that YHWH has spoken will we do.”
He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, “We will do all that YHWH has said, and we will obey.”
One will say, ‘I am YHWH’s.’ Another will be called by the name of Jacob; and another will write with his hand ‘to YHWH,’ and honor the name of Israel.”
You have declared today that YHWH is your God, and that you will walk in his ways, keep his statutes, his commandments, and his ordinances, and listen to his voice.
If y’all forsake YHWH, and serve foreign gods, then ʜᴇ will turn against y’all, harm y’all and destroy y’all, after ʜᴇ has done good for y’all.”
Joshua said to the people, “Y’all are witnesses against yourselves* that y’all have to worship YHWH.” They said, “We are witnesses.”
