Joshua 22:9 - Y'all Version Bible

The children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go to the land of Gilead, to the land of their possession, which they owned, according to the commandment of YHWH by Moses.

He made him king over Gilead, over the Ashurites, over Jezreel, over Ephraim, over Benjamin, and over all Israel.


and he lived eastward even to the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates, because their livestock were multiplied in the land of Gilead.


Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is the defense of my head. Judah is my scepter.


Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of livestock. They saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead. They saw that the it was a place for livestock.


Moses said to them: “If y’all will do this—if y’all arm yourselves before YHWH for battle,


and the land is subdued before YHWH—then afterward y’all may return and be clear of obligation to YHWH and to Israel. Then this land will be y’all’s possession before YHWH.


Our children, wives, flocks, and all our livestock will remain in the cities of Gilead;


Moses said to them, “If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will cross over the Jordan with y’all, every man who is armed to battle before YHWH, and the land is subdued before y’all, then y’all are to give them the land of Gilead for a possession.


At that time, I commanded y’all, saying, “YHWH y’all’s God has given y’all this land to take possession it. Y’all men of valor are to cross over before y’all’s brothers, the children of Israel, equipped for battle.


until YHWH gives rest to y’all’s brothers as ʜᴇ has to y’all, and they too possess the land which YHWH y’all’s God is giving them beyond the Jordan. Then each of y’all may return to the own possession I have given y’all.”


Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is opposite Jericho. YHWH showed him all the land of Gilead to Dan,


and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salecah;


Their border was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, to Aroer that is near Rabbah;


Half Gilead, Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even for the half of the children of Machir according to their families.


When they came to the region near the Jordan, that is in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh built an altar there by the Jordan, a great altar to look at.


Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, to YHWH at Mizpah.


Gilead lived beyond the Jordan. Why did Dan remain in ships? Asher sat still at the haven of the sea, and lived by his creeks.
