To the sons of Gershom were given, out of the family of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with its pasture lands, and Ashtaroth with its pasture lands;


Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is the defense of my head. Judah is my scepter.


“By the border of Naphtali, from the east side to the west side, Manasseh, one portion.


and the border of Og king of Bashan, of the remnant of the Rephaim, who lived at Ashtaroth and at Edrei,


all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (who was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); for Moses attacked these, and drove them out.


These are the inheritances which Moses distributed in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan at Jericho, eastward.


Ten parts fell to Manasseh, in addition to the land of Gilead and Bashan, which is beyond the Jordan;


because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons. The land of Gilead belonged to the rest of the sons of Manasseh.


and all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon and to Og king of Bashan, who was at Ashtaroth.


The children of Israel again did that which was evil in YHWH’s sight, and served the Baals, the Ashtaroth, the gods of Syria, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines. They abandoned YHWH, and didn’t serve him.


Gilead lived beyond the Jordan. Why did Dan remain in ships? Asher sat still at the haven of the sea, and lived by his creeks.


They cried to YHWH, and said, ‘We have sinned, because we have forsaken YHWH and have served the Baals and the Ashtaroth; but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve you.’


Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, “If y’all return to YHWH with all your* heart, then y’all must remove the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among y’all, and direct y’all’s hearts to YHWH, and serve ʜɪᴍ only. Then ʜᴇ will deliver y’all out of the hand of the Philistines.”
