Come, let us go down and there confuse their language so that they may not understand one another’s speech.”


Don’t boast about tomorrow; for you don’t know what a day may bring.


I said in my heart, “Come now, I will test you with mirth; therefore enjoy pleasure.” But this also was emptiness.


It will be as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the creditor, so with the debtor; as with the taker of interest, so with the giver of interest.


Now I will tell y’all what I am going to do to my vineyard. I will remove its hedge, and it will be eaten up. I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled down.


The time has come! The day draws near. Don’t let the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn; for wrath is on all its multitude.


and those who weep, as though they didn’t weep; and those who rejoice, as though they didn’t rejoice; and those who buy, as though they didn’t own anything;


Come now, wealthy ones, y’all should weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon y’all.
