When her owners realized that their expected profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the authorities.


“I said, ‘Lord, they know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you.


They dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. The witnesses laid their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.


Devout men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him.


All who heard him were amazed and said, “Isn’t this the man who was ravaging those who called on this name in Jerusalem, and who came here intending to chain them and bring them before the chief priests?”


For I am the least of the apostles, who is not worthy of being called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.


For y’all have heard of my way of living in time past in the Jewish religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.

even though I used to be a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant man. However, I was shown mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.


But y’all have dishonored the poor. Don’t the rich oppress y’all and personally drag y’all into court?
