Then they came near, and spoke before the king concerning the king’s decree: “Haven’t you signed a decree that every man who makes a petition to any god or man within thirty days, except to you, O king, would be cast into the den of lions?” The king answered, “This thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which doesn’t alter.”


“Then they will deliver y’all to oppression and will kill y’all. Y’all will be hated by all the ethnic groups because of my name.


“But y’all must be on guard. For they will deliver y’all up to councils, and y’all will be beaten in synagogues. Y’all will stand before rulers and kings for my sake, as a witness to them.


But some Jews from Antioch and Iconium came and when they had won over the crowd, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, thinking he was dead.


When there was a hostile movement among both the ethnic groups and the Jews, together with their leaders, to mistreat and stone them,


Then it seemed good to the apostles, the elders, and the whole church to select men from among them and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, who were leading men among the siblings.

Once when we were going to the place of prayer, a slave girl who had a future-telling spirit met us. She brought her owners a large profit through fortune telling.


They brought them before the magistrates and said, “These men are disturbing our city. They are Jews


About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.


The jailer called for lights, rushed in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.


When they didn’t find them, they dragged Jason and some of the siblings before the city officials, shouting, “These men who have stirred up trouble all around the world have now come here,


The whole city was provoked and the people rushed together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple, and immediately the doors were closed.


But Saul began ravaging the church. He entered every house, dragging out men and women and putting them into prison.

having the same conflict which y’all saw in me and now y’all hear is still with me.


Although we suffered and were mistreated in Philippi, as y’all know, we found confidence in our God to tell y’all the gospel of God amid deep opposition.


For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves with many sorrows.


But y’all have dishonored the poor. Don’t the rich oppress y’all and personally drag y’all into court?
