Moreover you should select from all the people able men who fear God, men of truth who hate unjust gain. Appoint them as rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.


For his God instructs him in right judgment and teaches him.


and a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.


But y’all are not to be called ‘Rabbi’, for y’all have one teacher, the Christ, and all y’all are siblings.


So the saying went out among the siblings that this disciple wouldn’t die. Yet Jesus didn’t say to him that he wouldn’t die, only that, “If I desire that he stay until I come, what is that to you?”


In those days, Peter stood up among the siblings (a gathering of about one hundred twenty people), and said,


“Therefore, it is necessary to chose from the men who have accompanied us the whole time the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,


They said, “Cornelius the centurion, a righteous man who fears God, and who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish ethnic group, was divinely directed by a holy angel to summon you to his house and listen to what you say.”


They wrote these things by their hand: “The apostles, the elders, and the brothers, To those in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia, who are siblings among the ethnic groups: Greetings.


and he was well spoken of by the siblings in Lystra and Iconium.


They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them speech.


“Ananias, a devout man according to the law, and highly spoken of by all the Jews who lived there,


where we found siblings who invited us to stay a week with them. And in this way, we came to Rome.


The Twelve called together the whole group of disciples and said, “It is not appropriate for us to forsake the word of God to minister at tables.


This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a convert to Judaism from Antioch.


They had them stand before the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.


When the siblings learned this, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.


For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit,

Y’all must not get drunk with wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead y’all should be filled with the Spirit,


Y’all must choose some wise, understanding, and respected men from among your* tribes, and I will make them heads over y’all.”


being approved by excellent works, such as if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the feet of saints, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.


Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.


Demetrius has the testimony of all, and of the truth itself. We also testify about him, and you know that our testimony is true.
