“The Spirit of YHWH spoke by me. His word was on my tongue.


But he will speak to this nation with stammering lips and in another language,


“As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says YHWH. “My Spirit who is on you, and my words which I have put in your mouth will not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your offspring, nor out of the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says YHWH, “from now on and forever.”


Therefore I am full of YHWH’s wrath. I am weary with holding it in. “Pour it out on the children in the street, and on the assembly of young men together; for even the husband with the wife will be taken, the aged with him who is full of days.


Go to them of the captivity, to the children of your people, and speak to them, and tell them, ‘This is what Lord YHWH says,’ whether they will hear, or whether they will refuse.”


But as for me, I am full of power by the Spirit of YHWH, and of judgment, and of might, to declare to Jacob his disobedience, and to Israel his sin.


But when they arrest y’all, don’t be anxious about what y’all will say. For at that time, y’all will be given what to say.


These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;


for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He must never drink wine or spirits, but he will be filled with the Holy Spirit while still in his mother’s womb.


When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.


His father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied,


for the Holy Spirit will teach y’all at that moment what y’all should say.”

For they heard them speaking in other tongues and praising God. Then Peter answered,


“Surely no one can withhold water for these people to be baptized? They have received the Holy Spirit just like us.”


As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came down upon them, just as on us at the beginning.


For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and a considerable number of people were added to the Lord.


And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.


But Saul (also called Paul), filled with the Holy Spirit, fixed his gaze on him


The heart-knower God validated them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just like ʜᴇ did to us.


and when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying.


Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our tongues about the mighty works of God!”


Tongues like fire appeared to them, separated, and rested on each of them.


When they had prayed, the place where they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.


Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of the people,


Therefore, siblings, select seven men from among y’all who have a reputation of being full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, and whom we may appoint to this duty.


This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a convert to Judaism from Antioch.


Now Stephen, full of grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.


But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,


Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.


So Ananias departed and entered the house. He placed his hands on him and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”


Now may the God of hope fill y’all with all joy and peace in believing, so that y’all may abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit.


and to another workings of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.


If I speak with the tongues of humans or angels, but don’t have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.


Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be ended. Where there are tongues, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be ended.


I thank God I speak in tongues more than all y’all.


Now I would like all y’all to speak in tongues, but even more that y’all would prophesy. For the one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up.


of Christ’s love and to know that it surpasses knowledge, so that y’all may be filled with all the fullness of God.


Y’all must not get drunk with wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead y’all should be filled with the Spirit,


Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and be watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints.


It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but y’all, in these things which now have been announced to y’all through those who preached the gospel to y’all by the Holy Spirit sent out from heaven—things which angels long to look into.


For no prophecy ever came by human will, but humans spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.


Eli said to her, “How long will you be drunk? Get rid of your wine!”


When they came there to the hill, a band of prophets met him, and the Spirit of God came mightily on him, and he prophesied among them.
