The crowd marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled restored, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.


They were seeking a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd, because they considered him to be a prophet.


They said, “But not during the feast, so that the people don’t riot.”


When the demon was cast out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowds marveled, saying, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel!”


But when the crowd saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such authority to humans.


When he said this, all his adversaries were humiliated, and the whole crowd rejoiced for all the glorious things he was doing.


The scribes and chief priests wanted to arrest him that very hour, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they feared the people.


But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ all the people will stone us, because they are convinced that John was a prophet.”


The chief priests and the scribes were seeking a way to eliminate Jesus, because they were afraid of the people.


They were all struck with amazement and glorified God. They were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen remarkable things today.”


But so that this doesn’t spread any further among the people, let’s threaten them to no longer speak in this name to any humans.”


For this miracle of healing had been performed on a man who was more than forty years old.


None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high regard.


So the captain went with the officers and brought the apostles, not using any force because they were afraid that the people would stone them.


So they summoned the apostles and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
