On an appointed day, Herod put on his royal apparel, sat on the throne, and delivered a public address to them.


When the seven days were almost over, some Jews from the province of Asia saw him in the temple, stirred up the whole crowd, and grabbed him,


At that, the high priest Ananias ordered those who stood near Paul to strike him on the mouth.

When I was informed that there was a plot against the man, I sent him to you immediately, ordering that his accusers state their case against him before you. Farewell.”


When they arrived in Caesarea, they delivered the letter to the governor and presented Paul to him.


he said, “I will hear your case when your accusers arrive.” Then he ordered that Paul be kept in Herod’s palace.

When Paul was called in, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, “We have experienced great peace through your rule, and your foresight has brought reforms in this ethnic group.


When I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me about him, asking for a sentence of condemnation against him.


Then the high priest and the leaders of the Jews brought charges against Paul. They also appealed,


When I came to y’all, siblings, I didn’t come with eloquent speech or wisdom, as I proclaimed to y’all the testimony of God.


My words and my preaching were not persuasive words of human wisdom, but a demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
