Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz were staying by En Rogel, and a female servant used to go and report to them, and they went and told King David. They couldn’t risk being seen coming into the city.


He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.


There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against YHWH.


Don’t lay in wait, O wicked one, against the dwelling of the righteous. Don’t destroy their resting place;


Who is he who says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord doesn’t command it?


Some of the crowd shouted one thing and some another, but when he couldn’t find out the truth because of the uproar, he ordered that Paul be brought into the barracks.


As Paul was about to be brought into the barracks, he asked the commander, “May I say something to you?” The commander replied, “You speak Greek?


When a dispute became so great that the commander was afraid that Paul would be torn to pieces by them, he ordered the troops to go down and seize him from them and bring him into the barracks.


Paul summoned one of the centurions and said, “Bring this young man to the commander, for he has something to tell him.”


The next day they permitted the horsemen to go with him, while they returned to the barracks.


He ordered the centurion to guard Paul but give him some freedom and not prevent any of his friends from meeting his needs.


For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness.”
