The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up their soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully.
I said previously when I was present the second time, and though now I am absent, I say again to those sinned previously and to all the rest that if I come again, I will not spare anyone,
Do not lay hands upon anyone hastily, and do not participate in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.
For this reason, I am reminding you that you should rekindle the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
Even though we speak like this, beloved, we are convinced of better things for y’all, things that accompany salvation.
Since y’all have purified your* souls in obedience to the truth in sincere mutual affection, y’all should love one another fervently, from the heart,
Beloved, I beg y’all as foreigners and immigrants to abstain from fleshly desires that war against the soul,
Therefore, beloved, as y’all are anticipating these things, be diligent to be found spotless, blameless, and at peace with him.
Therefore, beloved, since y’all know these things beforehand, be on guard so that y’all won’t be led astray by the error of the wicked, and fall from your* firm condition.
But don’t forget this one thing, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.
Now I want to remind y’all–even though y’all already know it–that after the Lord saved a people out of the land of Egypt, he later destroyed those who didn’t believe.
