You are to observe the feast of unleavened bread. Seven days you are to eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month Abib (for in it you came out of Egypt), and no one is to appear before me empty.
You are to redeem the firstborn of a donkey with a lamb. If you will not redeem it, then you must break its neck. You are to redeem all the firstborn of your sons. No one is to appear before me empty.
But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn’t listen to them, as YHWH had spoken.

Y’all keep watching it. If it goes up by the way of its own border to Beth Shemesh, then ʜᴇ has done us this great evil. But if not, then we will know that it is not his hand that struck us—it was just a chance that happened to us.”
