¶ The birth of Christ was on this wise, when his mother Mary was married unto Ioseph, before they came to dwell together, she was found with child by the holy ghost.


¶ While he yet talked to the people: behold, his mother and his brethren stood without the doors, desiring to speak with him.


Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying: of a truth thou art the son of God.


When they saw the star, they were marvellously glad.


saying: Where is he that is born King of the Jews? We have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.


And they came with haste, and found Mary and Ioseph, and the babe laid in a manger.


And she came forth that same hour, and praised God, and spake of him to all that looked for redemption in Hierusalem.


And there came also Nicodemus which at the beginning came to Iesus by night, and brought of myrrh and aloes mingled together about an hundred pound weight.


And I fell at his feet, to worship him. And he said unto me: see thou do it not. For I am thy fellow servant, and one of thy brethren, and of them that have the testimony of Iesus. Worship God. For the testimony of Iesus is the spirit of prophecy.


¶ And when he had taken the book, the iiij. beasts and xxiiij. seniors fell down before the lamb, having harps and golden vials full of odoures, which are the prayers of saints
