¶ After that he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat: and cast in their teeth their unbelief, and hardness of heart: because they believed not them which had seen him after his resurrection.
¶ He answered him and said: O generation without faith, how long shall I be with you. How long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
For thou bringest strange tidings to our ears. We would know therefore what these things mean.
I fear lest when I come again, God bring me low among you, and I be constrained to bewail many of them which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness, and fornication, and wantonness which they have committed.
¶ If any that is among you lack wisdom, let him ask of God (which giveth to all men without doubleness, and casteth no man in the teeth:) and it shall be given him:
and blasphemed the God of heaven for sorrow, and pain of their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
And the men raged in great heat, and spake evil of the name of God which had power over those plagues, and they repented not, to give him glory.
And I gave her space to repent of her fornication and she repented not.
