¶ Then assembled together the chief priests and scribes and seniors of the people into the palace of the high priest, called Caiphas:

Then led they Iesus from Caiphas into the hall of judgement. It was in the morning, and they themselves went not into the judgement house lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat Pascha.


¶ Then Pilate entered into the judgement house again, and called Iesus, and said unto him: Art thou king of the jewes?


And the soldiers wound a crown of thorns and put it on his head. And they did on him a purple garment,


and went again into the judgement house, and said unto Iesus: whence art thou? Iesus gave him none answer.
