and say: we have piped unto you, and ye have not danced, we have mourned unto you, and ye have not sorrowed.


¶ There followed him a great company of people, and of women, which women bewailed, and lamented him.


And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done: smote their breasts, and returned home.


And when he came to the house, he suffered no man to go in with him, save Peter, Iames and Ihon, and the father and the mother of the maiden.


And they laughed him to scorn. For they knew that she was dead.


When Iesus that heard he said: this infirmity is not unto death: But for the laud of God, that the son of God might be praised by the reason of it.
