and say: we have piped unto you, and ye have not danced, we have mourned unto you, and ye have not sorrowed.


¶ And many women were there, beholding him afar off, which followed Iesus from Galile, ministering unto him:


There were also women a good way off beholding him: among whom was Mary Magdalen, and Mary the mother of Iames the little and of Ioses, and Mary Salome:


Iesus turned back unto them, and said: Daughters of Ierusalem, weep not for me: but weep for yourselves, and for your children.


The women that followed after which came with him from Galile, beheld the sepulchre and how his body was laid.


And also certain women, which were healed of evil spirits, and infirmities: Mary called Magdalen, out of whom went seven devils,


Every body wept and sorrowed for her. And he said Weep not: for she is not dead, but sleepeth.


Verily verily I say unto you: ye shall weep and lament, and the world shall rejoice. Ye shall sorrow: but your sorrow shall be turned to joy.
