and they went into the sepulchre, and saw a young man, sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment, and they were abashed.


And lo: the angel of the Lord stood hard by them, and the brightness of the Lord shone round about them, and they were sore afraid.


And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth: they said to them: why seek ye the living among the dead?


And as they fastened their eyes in heaven, as he went, lo two men stood by them in white clothing,


¶ And behold the angel of the Lord was there present, and a light shined in the lodge. And he smote Peter on the side, and stirred him up saying: arise up quickly. And the chains fell off from his hands.


And without nay great is that mystery of godliness. God was shewed in the flesh, was justified in the spirit, was seen of angels, was preached unto the gentiles, was believed on in earth and received up in glory.
