¶ He that loveth his father, or mother more than me, is not worthy of me. And he that loveth his son, or daughter more than me, is not meet for me.


The third said: I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.


¶ There went a great company with him, and he turned and said unto them:


He that loveth his life shall destroy it: And he that hateth his life in this world, shall keep it unto life eternal.


but none of those things move me. Neither is my life dear unto myself, that I might fulfil my course with joy, and the ministration which I have received of the Lord Iesu to testify the gospell of the grace of God.


As it is written: Iacob he loved, but Esau he hated.


Yee I think all things but loss for that excellent knowledge's sake of Christ Iesu my Lord. For whom I have counted all thing loss, and do judge them but dung, that I might win Christ,
