For the wicked and the deceitful have opened their mouth against me. They spoke to me with a lying tongue,


Adonai, deliver my soul from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.


You have unleashed your mouth for evil and harnessed your tongue for deceit.


He will send from heaven and save me. He rebukes the one trampling on me. Selah God is sending His mercy and His truth.


They return at evening, snarling like a dog, prowling about the city.


Reckless speech is like the thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
