Then Joseph made Israel’s sons swear an oath saying, “When God takes notice of you, you will bring my bones up from here.”


Then He led them by a straight way to go to a city where they could live.


who led His people through the desert, for His lovingkindness endures forever,


O God, when You went out before Your people, when You marched through the desert—Selah—


It was on that very day that Adonai brought Bnei-Yisrael out of the land of Egypt as armies.


“Speak to Bnei-Yisrael, so that they turn back and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. You are to camp by the sea, opposite Baal-zephon.


But the Egyptians pursued them with all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, as well as his charioteers and his army, and overtook them as they were encamped by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth opposite Baal-zephon.


Only he should not multiply horses for himself or make the people return to Egypt to multiply horses, because Adonai has said to you, “You must never go back that way again.”


He found him in the wilderness land, in the void of a howling waste. He surrounded him, cared for him, guarded him as the pupil of His eye.


Your wives, your little ones and your cattle will remain in the land which Moses gave you beyond the Jordan, but you will cross over before your brothers armed, all the mighty men of valor, and will help them


Also the children of Reuben, the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh crossed over armed ahead of Bnei-Yisrael, just as Moses had said to them—


about 40,000 equipped for war crossed over before Adonai for battle to the plains of Jericho.
