Now when Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, “Is it you, the one who causes trouble for Israel?”
Ahab said to Elijah, “Have you found me, my enemy?” “I have found you,” he answered, “because you have sold yourself over to do what is evil in Adonai’s eyes.
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Yes, there is still one by whom we may inquire of Adonai—Micaiah son of Imlah—but I hate him, because he never prophesies good concerning me, only evil.” But Jehoshaphat said, “May the king not say so!”
But while he was still speaking to him, the king said to him, “Have we appointed you a counselor to the king? Stop! If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. But you are not of the world, since I have chosen you out of the world; therefore the world hates you.
For everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light, so that their deeds will not be exposed.
The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify that its works are evil.
Those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them. They will celebrate and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.
