So the people quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.” And Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test Adonai?”


But Ahaz said, “I won’t ask—I wouldn’t test Adonai!”


They tie up heavy loads, hard to carry, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves aren’t willing to lift a finger to move them.


Yeshua said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put Adonai your God to the test.’”


Then Peter said to her, “How did you agree to test the Ruach Adonai? Look, the feet of those who buried your husband are at the door—they will carry you out, too!”


But now you have come to know God—or rather you have come to be known by God. So how can you turn back again to those weak and worthless principles? Do you want to be enslaved to them all over again?


For freedom, Messiah set us free—so stand firm, and do not be burdened by a yoke of slavery again.


There your fathers put Me to the test, though they saw My works for forty years.


It is a symbol for the present time. Accordingly, gifts and sacrifices are being offered that cannot make the worshiper perfect with respect to conscience.
