At that same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I praise yoʋ, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because yoʋ have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in yoʋr sight.”


“Father, if yoʋ are willing to take this cup away from me, do so; nevertheless, not my will, but yoʋrs be done.”


But Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Then they cast lots to divide his garments.


So they took away the stone from where the dead man was laid. Then Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank yoʋ that yoʋ have heard me.


“My soul is now troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it is for this reason that I have come to this hour.


Father, glorify yoʋr name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.”


So then, God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.


In Christ we have obtained an inheritance, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of his own will,


He made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ


according to the eternal purpose that God has carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord.


He saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,
