Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the heavens, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, he will sit down on his throne of glory.
Then people will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
Truly I say to you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have taken place.
It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
For I tell you, I will certainly not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”
so that you may eat and drink at my table. And you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”

So the rumor spread among the brothers that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not tell him that he would not die; he only said, “If I wish for him to remain until I come, what is that to yoʋ?”
But we do see Jesus, who for a little while was made lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
