Is it for your fear of him that he reproves you, and enters into judgment with you?
Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? Will he enter with thee into judgment?
Is it for your [reverential] fear of Him that He [thus] reproves you, that He enters with you into judgment?
Is it for thy fear of him that he reproveth thee, That he entereth with thee into judgment?
Does he rebuke you for your piety, bring you in for judgment?
Will he reprove you and take you to judgment for being afraid,
Shall he reprove thee for fear, and come with thee into judgment?
And dost thou open thy eyes upon such a one and bring him into judgment with thee?
that he would maintain the right of a man with God, like that of a man with his neighbor.
be afraid of the sword, for wrath brings the punishment of the sword, that you may know there is a judgment.”
Is it any pleasure to the Almighty if you are righteous, or is it gain to him if you make your ways blameless?
For he has not appointed a time for any man to go before God in judgment.
Am I the sea, or a sea monster, that thou settest a guard over me?
If it is a contest of strength, behold him! If it is a matter of justice, who can summon him?
For he is not a man, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together.
Enter not into judgment with thy servant; for no man living is righteous before thee.
When thou dost chasten man with rebukes for sin, thou dost consume like a moth what is dear to him; surely every man is a mere breath! Selah
At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse lay stunned.
They have burned it with fire, they have cut it down; may they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance!
For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.
Those whom I love, I reprove and chasten; so be zealous and repent.
