My shield and hiding-place thou art: I on thy word rely.


Lord, free me from my foes; I flee to thee to cover me.


Hell's sorrows me environed; death's snares did me prevent.


For he in his pavilion shall me hide in evil days; In secret of his tent me hide, and on a rock me raise.


In secret of thy presence thou shalt hide them from man's pride: From strife of tongues thou closely shalt, as in a tent, them hide.


Unto the man that wicked is his sorrows shall abound; But him that trusteth in the Lord mercy shall compass round.


He put a new song in my mouth, our God to magnify: Many shall see it, and shall fear, and on the Lord rely.


For, Lord, unto the righteous man thou wilt thy blessing yield: With favour thou wilt compass him about, as with a shield.


God also will a refuge be for those that are oppress'd; A refuge will he be in times of trouble to distress'd.


He that doth in the secret place of the most High reside, Under the shade of him that is th' Almighty shall abide.


O sing a new song to the Lord, for wonders he hath done: His right hand and his holy arm him victory hath won.
