Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a member of the court of Herod the ruler, and Saul.


Then the believers immediately sent Paul away to the coast, but Silas and Timothy remained behind.


But the Jews became jealous, and with the help of some ruffians in the marketplaces they formed a mob and set the city in an uproar. While they were searching for Paul and Silas to bring them out to the assembly, they attacked Jason's house.


When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with proclaiming the word, testifying to the Jews that the Messiah was Jesus.


So he sent two of his helpers, Timothy and Erastus, to Macedonia, while he himself stayed for some time longer in Asia.


He was accompanied by Sopater son of Pyrrhus from Beroea, by Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica, by Gaius from Derbe, and by Timothy, as well as by Tychicus and Trophimus from Asia.


Greet my relative Herodion. Greet those in the Lord who belong to the family of Narcissus.


Greet Andronicus and Junia, my relatives who were in prison with me; they are prominent among the apostles, and they were in Christ before I was.


For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my own people, my kindred according to the flesh.

But as for you, man of God, shun all this; pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness.


Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid the profane chatter and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge;


To Timothy, my beloved child: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.


I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been set free; and if he comes in time, he will be with me when I see you.
