but on taking leave of them, he said, “I will return to you, if God wills.” Then he set sail from Ephesus.


Now after these things had been accomplished, Paul resolved in the Spirit to go through Macedonia and Achaia, and then to go on to Jerusalem. He said, “After I have gone there, I must also see Rome.”


For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he might not have to spend time in Asia; he was eager to be in Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of Pentecost.


And now, as a captive to the Spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there,


Now after some years I came to bring alms to my nation and to offer sacrifices.


But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints in Jerusalem;


Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.


If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me.


begging us earnestly for the privilege of sharing in this ministry to the saints—


so that we might urge Titus that, as he had already made a beginning, so he should also complete this generous undertaking among you.


They asked only one thing, that we remember the poor, which was actually what I was eager to do.


For God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the love that you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do.
