and he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.


And Gedali´ah sware to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it shall be well with you.


For thou shalt eat the labor of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.


Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.


But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith the Lord; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.


How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people! How is she become as a widow! She that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary!


We gat our bread with the peril of our lives, because of the sword of the wilderness.
