I sleep, but my heart wakes: it is the voice of my beloved that knocks, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my perfect one: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.


While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.


Peter said unto him, Though I should die with you, yet will I not deny you. Likewise also said all the disciples.


Then said he unto them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death: tarry you here, and watch with me.


Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.


And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.


And he came, and found them sleeping, and said unto Peter, Simon, do you sleep? could you not watch one hour?


And when he rose up from prayer, and came to his disciples, he found them sleeping from the grief,


But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.


And it shall be, that in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, you shall rise early, and set upon the city: and, behold, when he and the people that are with him come out against you, then may you do to them as you shall find occasion.
