And when all the Moabites heard that the kings had come up to fight against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armor, and older, and stood in the border.


Lay your hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.


Boast not yourself of tomorrow; for you know not what a day may bring forth.


I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happens to them all.


They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he has passed the time appointed.


Thus says the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
