Shlomo sat on the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly.
The LORD gave Shlomo wisdom, as he promised him; and there was shalom between Chiram and Shlomo; and they two made a league together.
Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about; for his name shall be Shlomo, and I will give shalom and quietness to Yisra'el in his days:
Of all my sons (for the LORD has given me many sons), he has chosen Shlomo my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Yisra'el.
Then Shlomo sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Yisra'el obeyed him.
He died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor: and Shlomo his son reigned in his place.
