Proverbs 1:1

And Solomon sat upon the throne of his father David, and his kingdom was strengthened exceedingly.


And the Lord gave wisdom to Solomon, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and they two made a league together.


The son, that shall be born to thee, shall be a most quiet man: for I will make him rest from all his enemies round about. And therefore he shall be called Peaceable: and I will give peace and quietness to Israel all his days.


And among my sons (for the Lord hath given me many sons) he hath chosen Solomon my son, to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.


And Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father. And he pleased all: and all Israel obeyed him.


And he died in a good age, full of days, and riches, and glory. And Solomon his son reigned in his stead.


A wise son maketh the father glad: but a foolish son is the sorrow of his mother.


That I might shew thee the certainty, and the words of truth, to answer out of these to them that sent thee.


These are also parables of Solomon, which the men of Ezechias king of Juda copied out.


The words of Ecclesiastes, the son of David, king of Jerusalem.


And whereas Ecclesiastes was very wise, he taught the people, and declared the things that he had done: and seeking out, he set forth many parables.


These things I have spoken to you in proverbs. The hour cometh, when I will no more speak to you in proverbs, but will shew you plainly of the Father.
