Now the names of the twelve emissaries are these. The first, Shim`on, who is called Kefa; Andrew, his brother; Ya`akov Ben-Zavdai; Yochanan, his brother;
Philip; Bar-Talmai; T'oma; Mattityahu the tax collector; Ya`akov Ben-Chalfai; Lebbai, whose surname was Taddi;
Walking by the sea of the Galil, he saw two brothers: Shim`on, who is called Kefa, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, Ya`akov Ben-Zavdai, and Yochanan his brother, in the boat with Zavdai their father, mending their nets. He called them.
Going on a little further from there, he saw Ya`akov Ben-Zavdai, and Yochanan, his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.
Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Shim`on and Andrew, with Ya`akov and Yochanan.
He took with him Kefa, Ya`akov, and Yochanan, and began to be greatly troubled and distressed.
He allowed no one to follow him, except Kefa, Ya`akov, and Yochanan the brother of Ya`akov.
After six days Yeshua took with him Kefa, Ya`akov, and Yochanan, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them.
and so also were Ya`akov and Yochanan, sons of Zavdai, who were partners with Shim`on. Yeshua said to Shim`on, *Don't be afraid. From now on you will be catching people alive.*
But Shim`on Kefa, when he saw it, fell down at Yeshua's knees, saying, *Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.*
When it was day, he called his talmidim, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named emissaries:
Mattityahu; T'oma; Ya`akov, the son of Chalfai; Shim`on, who was called the Zealot;
Philip found Natan'el, and said to him, *We have found him, of whom Moshe in the Torah, and the prophets, wrote: Yeshua of Natzeret, the son of Yosef.*
Philip said to him, *Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.*
Yeshua therefore lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude was coming to him, said to Philip, *Where are we to buy bread, that these may eat?*
When they had come in, they went up into the upper room, where they were staying; that is Kefa, Yochanan, Ya`akov, Andrew, Philip, T'oma, Bar-Talmai, Mattityahu, Ya`akov Ben-Chalfai, Shim`on the Zealot, and Yehudah the son of Ya`akov.
Shim`on Kefa, a servant and emissary of Yeshua the Messiah, to those who have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Savior, Yeshua the Messiah:
