Par`oh called Avram and said, *What is this that you have done to me? Why didn't you tell me that she was your wife?


Avimelekh said to Avraham, *What did you see, that you have done this thing?*


Avimelekh rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ear. The men were very scared.


Avimelekh said, *What is this you have done to us? One of the people might easily have lain with your wife, and you would have brought guilt on us!*


It happened in the morning that, behold, it was Le'ah. He said to Lavan, *What is this you have done to me? Didn't I serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?*


The sons of Ya`akov came in from the field when they heard it. The men were grieved, and they were very angry, because he had done folly in Yisra'el in lying with Ya`akov's daughter; a which thing ought not to be done.


It happened about three months later, that it was told Yehudah, saying, *Tamar, your daughter-in-law, has played the prostitute; and moreover, behold, she is with child by prostitution.* Yehudah said, *Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.*


He isn't greater in this house than I, neither has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?*
