He looked behind him and saw them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. Two female bears came out of the woods, and mauled forty-two of those youths.


David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?


For because you didn't carry it at the first, the LORD our God made a breach on us, because we didn't seek him according to the ordinance.


My flesh trembles for fear of you. I am afraid of your judgments.


All mankind shall be afraid. They shall declare the work of God, and shall wisely ponder what he has done.


Therefore thus says the LORD, the God Tzeva'ot, Because you speak this word, behold, I will make my words in your mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.


It happened, when I prophesied, that Pelatyah the son of Benayah died. Then fell I down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! will you make a full end of the remnant of Yisra'el?


Then Moshe said to Aharon, *This is what the LORD spoke of, saying, 'I will show myself holy to those who come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.'* Aharon held his shalom.


Now, behold, the hand of the Lord is on you, and you will be blind, not seeing the sun for a season!* Immediately a mist and darkness fell on him. He went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.


Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the emissaries.


None of the rest dared to join them, however the people honored them.


What do you want? Shall I come to you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness?


For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not deal sharply when present, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up, and not for tearing down.


I have said beforehand, and I do say beforehand, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, I write to those who have sinned before now, and to all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare;


For behold, this same thing, that you were made sorry in a godly way, what earnest care it worked in you. Yes, what defense, indignation, fear, longing, zeal, and vengeance! In everything you demonstrated yourselves to be pure in the matter.


All Yisra'el shall hear, and fear, and shall not do any more such wickedness as this is in the midst of you.


All the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones: so shall you put away the evil from the midst of you; and all Yisra'el shall hear, and fear.


Didn't `Akhan the son of Zerach commit a trespass in the devoted thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Yisra'el? and that man didn't perish alone in his iniquity.


In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.


If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way.
