After these things the word of the LORD came to Avram in a vision, saying, *Don't be afraid, Avram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.*


Be of good courage, and let us play the man for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seems him good.


Now the LORD show loving kindness and truth to you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because you have done this thing.


Now Aviner the son of Ner, captain of Sha'ul's army, had taken Ish-Boshet the son of Sha'ul, and brought him over to Machanayim;


So all the elders of Yisra'el came to the king to Chevron; and king David made a covenant with them in Chevron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Yisra'el.


Then he brought out the king's son, and put the crown on him, and [gave him] the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, [Long] live the king.


I told them of the hand of my God which was good on me, as also of the king's words that he had spoken to me. They said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for the good [work].


Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong!


Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.
