God gave the command and healed them.\par So those people were saved from the grave.\par


Why? Because God just gives a command,\par and that thing happens.\par And if he says, “Stop!”\par then that thing will stop. {\cf2\super [207]} \par


The Lord said, “You must obey the Lord, your God. You must do the things he says are right. If you obey all the Lord’s commands and laws, then you will not be sick like the Egyptians. I, the Lord, will not give you any of the sicknesses I gave the Egyptians. I am the Lord. I am the one who makes you well.”


The people were amazed. They asked each other, “What is happening here? This man is teaching something new. And he teaches with authority (power)! He even gives commands to evil spirits, and the spirits obey him.”


The people were amazed. They said to each other, “What does this mean? With authority and power he (Jesus) commands evil spirits and they come out.”


Jesus said, “I want to heal you. Be healed!” Then Jesus touched the man. Immediately the leprosy {\cf2\super [92]} disappeared.


So Jesus went with the men. Jesus was coming near the officer’s house when the officer sent friends to say, “Lord, you don’t need to do anything special for me. I am not good enough for you to come into my house.


\{I understand your authority.\} I am a man under the authority (power) of other men. And I have soldiers under my authority. I tell one soldier, ‘Go,’ and he goes. And I tell another soldier, ‘Come,’ and he comes. And I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and my servant obeys me.”


“‘Now, see that I and only I am God! There is no other God! I put people to death and I let people live. I can hurt people, and I can make them well. No one can save another person from my power!


The Lord causes people to die, and he causes them to live. The Lord sends people down to the grave, [21] and he can raise them up {to live again}.
