Then the leading priests and the older Jewish leaders had a meeting at the palace where the high priest {\cf2\super [393]} lived. The high priest’s name was Caiaphas.


The men that arrested Jesus led him to the house of Caiaphas the high priest. {\cf2\super [413]} The teachers of the law and the older Jewish leaders were gathered there.


Annas and Caiaphas were the high priests. {\cf2\super [45]} At that time, a command from God came to John, the son of Zechariah. John was living in the desert.


One of the men there was Caiaphas. He was the high priest {\cf2\super [183]} that year. Caiaphas said, “You people know nothing!


Caiaphas did not think of this himself. He was high priest {\cf2\super [184]} that year. So he was really prophesying {\cf2\super [185]} that Jesus would die for the Jewish people.


So Annas sent Jesus to Caiaphas the high priest. {\cf2\super [235]} Jesus was still tied.


Then the guards took Jesus from Caiaphas’ house to the \{Roman governor’s\} palace. It was early in the morning. The Jews there would not go inside the palace. They did not want to make themselves unclean, {\cf2\super [237]} because they wanted to eat the Passover {\cf2\super [238]} meal.


Jesus answered, “The only power you have over me is the power given to you by God. So the man who gave me to you is guilty of a greater sin.”


Annas (the high priest {\cf2\super [66]}), Caiaphas, John, and Alexander were there. Everyone from the high priest’s family was there.
